I'm going to be starting at Cerro Coso Community College this fall semester. How hard is it going to be for me to get a job at the mountain? Do they have any type of program set up with the college, or is it just first come first serve?

Read through their job opportunities page:

You shouldn't have a problem finding a job with them. Call them for possible details related to Cerro Coso College.

It's pretty easy to get a job with the mountain for the winter season and even easier if you're already in town. I suggest once you get to town start going up and talking to every employee you can and make some friends - it can't hurt.

If you would consider 4 months as a crew lead installing A/C ducting, then yes. I'm not sure how well that would translate over to guest services though.

I've already applied for their dishwashing position they have posted. I figure that will get my foot in the door for the winter season.

Photoho was joking about the upper management skills because Mammoth announced that they are going to create a new 6 man team to manage the mountain.

The best jobs are the ones that let you ski/snowboard the most during the week. Work weekends when it's crowded and enjoy the mountain when the tourists go home.

Parking attendant sucks btw.

Although you may want to throw some votes my way for one of those 6 positions.

Free season passes for everyone 8-)
