I'm surprised no one mentioned full operational shutdown at June for today 2/21! :o

It was R2 chain controls getting there from Mammoth so probably not many people anyway.

Just wondering if you would recommend June rather than Mammoth for just a few days of skiing greens and blues for folks who don't ski much.

Absolutely! The groomed runs are smoother late in the day and the runs are less crowded. In addition it's quite a bit cheaper than Mammoth. The only real drawback is the extra 30 minutes or so of driving.

Definitely absolutely. One of my friends liked that it wasnt crowded so she didnt feel intimidated by people whizzing by her. Its much more relaxed at June.

If you can ski low level blues, ski down the road to the lot at the end of the day. Its an access road in Summer so the grade is one that vehicles can take (which means, not steep) and the views are great going down. And you get one last run in.

Is June open today? I'm having a hard time figuring it out from the website.

From the Lift Status on their website as of 10:00 a.m., everything except for J6 is open with that opening within 30 minutes or less.

Normally, if they are closed, they will post it directly on their home page.

Better late than never. I drove up to June last Saturday, 3/4 to view their snow sculptures during their Winter Festival. Enjoyed lunch at Ohanas395 first eating the most tasty seared ahi tacos then my girlfriend who lives there and I strolled the village enjoying the creative sculptures. It was a sunny, but bitterly cold windy day.
