For me it was simple, why drive north when the chair 15 parking lot is 3 minuets from my front door?

Powder for hours vs. powder for minutes??? And then there's the trees the next day. And the side country. But I guess the Snowman knows his way around and can get the same thing off of chair 15 and beyond. I'm glad you stayed in Mammoth but I'm sad that June closed.

I'm actually looking forward to this coming winter. Whatever happens...

I would have thought that went under "too far to drive."

FWIW, we're a couple hundred yards from the Village gondola, but still typically ski June on Saturdays.

How about "Skinning Saturdays?" Great cross training for your cycling Biker...

You know, I could do that! Or get one of Grumpy's snomobiles. That's what I call making lemonade from lemons. lol

Powder for minutes... lol

That post just shows how little you know about me and my Mammoth storm riding. FYI I do not ski blue bird powder days in bounds anymore, I ski storm days in bounds and get ENDLESS POWDER IN.

Sorry they closed your hill!

Oh and those trees!!!!! Oh yea, that fall line. How dare you challenge One Grumpy Transplant ? The logic is that EVERYBODY waits and only ski's the top or whatever on a powder day. The truth is endless pow if you know the spots and work a little bit.
Everybody comes to mammoth to ski mammoth. Now that the bunny hill to the north is closed all I hear about mammoth from those 6-10 hacks is HOW MUCH MAMMOTH SUCKS ??? The real story it might be you who SUX ! Tighten that game up a little and you might actually ENJOY mammoth. Or just hit up Aspen with what's it's name.

This is what I said Mr. Snowman. " But I guess the Snowman knows his way around and can get the same thing off of chair 15 and beyond." The same thing meaning you can get powder for days and are the exception to the rule.

I know about your storm riding too. I prefer riding storms also.

FWIW, we're near Vons and go to JM on Saturdays, too.
