I'm actually glad the June is not challenging enough for lots of people. It suits my 64 year young snowboarding abilities just fine though.

We should rename the chair the poverty chair. I slep my skis boots and all over to June, then I slep them back to Mammoth. I love to ski. It is worth the effort to ski with my friends. I am glad certain people did not make it to June. June is a happy place and it suxs so do not go there.

June is always good,

That lift is fine,

I rode some old lifts when I was in Montana. At Red Lodge the top loading ramp was a 50 degree 20ft slope that was only 6ft wide. Most boarders couldnt' handle it and would immediatly drop to their ass and slide down the ramp.

The magic carpets at Bridger were cool to..

Loved the cold smoke

Since you haven't started the thread, I'll tell you why (besides it Sux).

I had intentions of skiing at June this year; I really did. I got up to Mammoth 4 times. I figured I'd ski part of the day at Mammoth and then ski down, hop in my truck, and ski June. Like on a Saturday when it was crowded. Just for the fun of it. Never happened. I found it too hard to stop skiing. Also, my luck wasn't that good as I happened to be skiing somewhere else when the few storms did hit. The times I did get up there it was usually a bit warm and I was told June was sucking that day because of the warm weather. I really, really, really, planned to go up to June. I'll do it next year. I've only been skiing at Mammoth since 1970. You figure I'd have gone to June at least once!

making the trek this winter

Geez... It's only a cup of coffee away :-?

trek
1. to travel or migrate, especially slowly or with difficulty.

Correct, I used that word on purpose.

It would take some early morning planning to get up to my locker at Main Lodge in order to pack up my gear, put it in the car, double back to the Scenic Loop (if it's open) to drive the 25 minutes to June. What I usually try to do is plan a trip to June a day in advance and go fetch my gear while parked in the loading zone one afternoon, bring it home then leave for June directly the next morning. This season when the conditions were optimal at June (which obviously weren't often), I wasn't available to do this due to either other commitments, issues at home or weather/road conditions.

There's always next season and we can only pray for a great one!

why didnt your husband(retired usfs employee) LOL,,, take you up to main since you usually take the bus and help you get your stuff ? I mean it makes like 10 minutes to get to main. I just dont get it.... and you seem to know every joe larry and curly in town,,, noone could have helped ??? For someone that talks so highly about june hill I just dont understand why you didnt go there,, its not like its hours away.just sayin...

It's a rumor but June is building this in the summer. They will use a more Modern Bus.. but you get the idea.

that's the funniest thing I've ever seen on the forum. Dude, snowfiend you just slay me.

How many times have you been to June the last couple of years? How much money have you spent there?

You had better be nice or certain people on this forum are going to "foe" you...

I guess we will see who shows up next season. Hope to see you there SkierBob. You and SL and the host of other June supporters that I haven't seen in a few years....

I'm thinking about coming up to Poverty Lake and ride the Poverty Chairlift and ski Poverty Mountain and then stay at Poverty Lake Lodge.

Had one of the most memorable days last season at June. (Which admittedly isn't saying much). We actually caught a unicorn, I mean storm. Granted, it was 6" of dust falling on crust, but tracks were laid and covered, and as usual there were about 11 people on the mountain. Topped it off with the June Lake Brewing/Hawaiian food truck combo. Hope to repeat that experience this season.

Oh, and it was my wife's first day back riding after busting her collarbone the previous season.
