Yeah really. I'll be there after the new year and will post some pics. They do need more snow though, that's for sure....

Hey everyone, my buddy and I are driving up Friday. Our plan is to board June on Saturday and Mammoth on Sunday. I know June needs snow bad but is there enough for some fun groomers? Anyone been up there the last couple days?

Thanks!

Since apparently nobody checks the June Mountain portion of this forum, has anyone been up there lately with anything to report? My buddy and I are planning on heading there Saturday. We know there isn't much snow but as long as the long cruisers are groomed and we don't have to worry THAT bad about putting chunks into our boards we'll take the risk. Any first hand reports? Thanks!

I check in to the June forum, but haven't been up there to ski yet this season. Plan on going as soon as they get another good storm.

I was speaking with Junebug on the phone last night and he gave me the scoop. He's skied there 15 days so far, but he said it's marginal at best right now. He told me there was no more connecting snow from the top of Rainbow ridge to get to J6/J7...saplings sticking out everywhere, gravel on the snow at the top of Schatzi, but good snow toward the middle and bottom, firm thin snow off all the J4 runs, but he did say Matterhorn was good. He didn't say whether Deer Bowl was open or how the snow was there. They're blowing snow with their two large fan snow blowers onto Chalet so folks can make it back down to the lodge from J3 to J6 and J2 again. You have to watch for natural obstacles.

One of the web cam shots of J6 and the top of J1:

Pray for snow!

Wish June Bug could enjoy his new found retirement more. Oh well, it will come.

SL, I'm sure you meant there was not enough snow on Rainbow Ridge to get from J6 to J7.

I wonder if Spike Camp trail has enough snow to make the traverse? It is in the shade...
