Is the face or at least Canyon trail open yet? That download line was nuts over the holidays. WFAB couldn't keep up with the demand.

Yeah, you can see people heading down Canyon on the live web cam. Hope they get the Face open soon. I'm trying to get down there next week sometime...

Canyon is open as of Saturday. Rode down it to escape the crazy lift line that day. The face still needs more but is almost there.

I went to June for the first time ever on Saturday, because Mammoth was too windy. It was one of my best days ever snowboarding. The feeling of being completely alone, in fresh snow cruising through the mellow tree runs, something I will never forget. And the views on Canyon trail heading back down to the parking lot, COMPLETELY UNREAL.

^^^ If you think the views from Canyon Trail are really good you should try riding the chair down - it's nothing but great views everywhere you look!

^ That would be a smart move.

Jr. will have a blast riding J1. Keeping it all in the family, eh? :)

How's the face looking these days? Website says its still closed, but we've got to be getting close, right?

Skied June on Saturday to avoid the Mammoth crowds. Closer yes, but if you like your skis then no!

The snow quality is very, very good. And the coverage is very, very good! Just not on the face. Upper lot was full and lower lot getting there but still un crowded.

Went to June this afternoon and found the outer parking lot about half full. I haven't seen that in several years. By June standards conditions weren't very good. At times there were several people ahead of us in the lift lines  No perfectly manicured groomers either. Canyon run was fun but I'd love to see them get the face open this season. Nice to see it fairly busy and lots of people having fun. Went to Mono Lake for an incredible sunset then back to June for dinner and drinks at the Tiger Bar. All in all a really nice day!
