Just read above the June Lake cam page their delayed opening will take place this Friday, 12/22/17 with limited terrain. Their chalet cam is down, but their J3 cam is still functioning. I'm sure they feel pressured to open some lifts and terrain just to take the holiday pressure off of MM.

Looks like J7 will be spinning with access to Matterhorn, Schatzi and Sunrise. J2 serving Mambo. That terrain alone will be a break from what is sure to be a bit of a cluster at Mammoth. And an excuse to get out of Dodge and hit the JLB. ;)

Today on June Mtn's FB page:

We’ll all be skiing/riding on this side of the mountain starting tomorrow, Friday, January 12! Chairs 4 & 6 with access to Bodie, Gunsmoke, Lottie Johl, Rosa Mae, Rainbow Ridge and Chaparral are poppin tomorrow.

June is where I'd go during a 3-day holiday w/e!

Anyone ski June today? It doesn't look like J7 opened. Anyone know if the face has opened?

This was posted on the June Mtn. site this morning so maybe 7 did open. I would guess Patrol is still doing avy control on the Face and maybe that snow will have to settle for a few days before they can open it. Remember, not much of the Face was covered 72 hours ago!

Storm total is 6-8 feet since Thursday. Chairs J1 & J2 are open at this time, rest of chairs are expected. We are hopeful J7 will open this afternoon. Ski Patrol is working on avalanche control work in that area now.
