Fabulous first day of the season ski for me yesterday. Glorious day and perfect groomers! (More photos later...need to get ready to leave for a meeting and have to tunnel out our garage because our roof is being shoveled right now.)

Just outside the gondi building to the immediate right. It shows you how much snow crews had to shovel away from the car entrance bays next to the building in order for the cars to get in and out!

Turns out I met up with a few folks for my first day back on the slopes, which made it even more enjoyable.

Great to meet up with Cyber Kahuna and his son for my first few runs then yntski for my final run. Good to meet you, yntski...let's do that again in March! :)

Today was fun, I wasn't expecting the top to open so that was a fun little bonus. About 3 to 4" up at Main Lodge and higher. Just enough to have some untracked turns although it was easy to bottom out on the crusty stuff underneath. Zero lines.

St Anton is now filled in so it's not a fun natural half pipe anymore. Weird to see Gravy Chute as a groomed run. Maybe ils is right, the mountain IS getting too flat. :P

It's getting deep out there making the mountain even flatter. Or higher. Guess it depends on your perspective. Fun snow but groomed runs were as bumpy as I've ever seen them. Canyon Express seat height was extremely low causing problems loading especially for snowboarders. I almost got my leg caught under the chair.

Knee to waist deep on Lincoln this morning. did 7 laps and only waited in line for 5 minutes at most. Light snow on top of yesterdays tracked out bumps made it interesting. Left around 10:15 to clean up the snow around the house.

Chair 5 at 1:45 this afternoon. I'm pretty sure the lines at Vons are longer.

Fun day had way more untracked runs than expected. Snow on 5 had a 3" crust on it which I wasn't expecting either. Made it tough for the inexperienced powder riders. Snow on chair 4 was really fun.

They've been bombing this afternoon.
