Boot deep + in some spots where things had blown in. Tons of traverse lines by the time they popped the top. Some good turns and at least the powder panic is done before tomorrow morning. Heavier snow should make for good groomers.

Are you coming here this year?

:( :( :( :(
I'm sorry to say it won't be happening. After 20+ straight years of Mammoth trips, it won't be happening this year. :o :( Lot's of "stuff" happening at work.
I just hope Burgers survives without me. ;)
I'll REALLY miss you guys. Hopefully I can make up for it next year. I'll be watching you on the WEB cams.

This locks it in. No winter storms for Mammoth.

Oh come on. Its Mammoth concrete and pumice and DG.

I was going to head the other direction and say better leash the kid since it would only take a 2-3ft snow to be overhead to a toddler.

Finally met the legendary Sierra Lady in person last Friday 1/26/2018. 8-)

One of those perfect coincidences where I was locking our boards up at The Mill, looked over, and there she was. :) We had a great day Friday with sunny skies, colder temps, some boot deep powder is areas, along with perfect groomers, minimal hard patches, and not too crowded.

Saturday warmed up a bit but the snow was still great. Unfortunately everyone came up for the weekend to dip into the fresh snow and the crowds were stupid.

Some awesome spots all over the mountain those 2 days...

Chair 9 area needs more snow, and my brand new board took some nicks in the entry of Ricochet, but once we got over the hump riders right, we found fresh lines so deep a few of the novices got stuck. Heard several people hooting and hollering through that area having fun. Trees off the side of Goldhill were good too.

Cornice Bowl had its typical groomed off chalk like entrance, but the ridge on riders left had some good, albeit chopped up snow consistent the whole way down.

The snow fields around the Reds Lake Run area on the backside were wide open and still smooth allowing for you to make whatever type of turns you wanted, and the trees in the backside areas were still holding the goods.

Chair 12 groomers were perfect as usual, but Ive never seen a full line at Chair 12 like there was Saturday. Couldnt deal with that again so we returned to the backside and rode up 14 to hit Scottys which was shaded by then, but despite a bit of chalk in the groomed throat, was great snow everywhere the whole way down.

Finished up by making our way towards Canyon on Chair 10 and took the long way around Lincoln Mtn. and down to Eagle express before returning to Canyon and calling it a weekend. Stoked to have been all over the mountain and show some Mammoth noobs what it's all about.

Would post a lot of pics but this forum sucks and imposes a puny 700px image limit which I refuse to spend the time resizing my photos to. :swear:
