Purchased 2 base passes and 1 kids pass without issue. Saved $250 over last year, plus now we don't have to buy lift tickets when we visit family in CO each year, which probably saved over $1,000 in and of itself. We avoid Mammoth like the plague during the black out periods anyway. Pretty stoked with how this all turned out.

At Alpine Meadows yesterday, in the Main Lodge, all the big screens were running a heavy rotation of ads for the IKON PASS.There was quite a bit of talk going on by the folks taking a break. It seems to be catching on.

Bought my base pass with ski pass protection last night. Easy peasy and done!

I called today to find out if the pricing is for a limited time, and they said it's good through April 9th. I saw that for the Child Pass, but it doesn't say that for the Base or Full I.K.O.N. Not sure if that's accurate, I would think if it was a limited time offer they'd get the word out for sense of urgency.

Right, so how cumbersome is the whole process?

Trying to get the thing before our April 12th trip but wanted to wait a bit.

Not sure really, they don't give any instructions on what kind of photo we can submit.

The "My Account" page is really simple though

I didn't read anything about shipping it. I read you show up at a ticket window on or after 4/9 and pick up your new IKON pass. I assume they want you to submit a photo before they issue the pass to you. I already submitted mine.

They said something about submitting a picture early enough so that they could ship the passes to us.

Either way, I don't really mind

On Facebook, one of their reps posted that the free Child pass promo is good till April 9, but the adult pricing will not increase until May 1.

From the FAQ page:

What type of photo do I need to upload for my Ikon Pass?

Please upload a headshot without ski goggles, glasses, a hat or helmet. The file should be less than 5mb and should be cropped so that you are the only person in the photo. Poor quality photos, photos not clearly depicting the pass holder, or photos not meeting specifications will be rejected and require a new photo be uploaded.

How do I upload a photo?

If photo(s) for all pass holders on your account were not uploaded at time of purchase, instructions will be sent via email to the person who purchased the Pass. A link will be included to upload the photos.

I had looked everywhere for photo parameters and never saw those instructions. I submitted a photo of me without sunglasses, but wearing my new Eastside K-9 Avalanche Rescue cap. Guess I need to find another to submit. Thanks yntski!
