Amazed at the number of people standing in line to pay $129 for 3 lifts and long lines.

They're either passholders or likely on a multi day ticket they've paid for.

Is it really $129 now?

Hard to say what the pricing is since MMSA now follows the "dynamic" pricing craze. This means that they can raise the price when there is new snow or lower it if conditions aren't optimum. Prices are no longer posted on their website anymore and you will see the daily rate on the electronic board behind the ticket counters, which could differ daily.

My wife and I are longtime pass holders. We were up for New Years weekend and had to buy my 6 year old a ticket. Couldn't believe his ticket was $62 and it was $155 for adult ticket. That is nuts.

^^ not only that, but they blocked out the passholder discount. Tried to use my "Invite a friend" for my brother - denied. Not sure I've ever tried to use it on a holiday however

I walked over to the ticket counter to see how much they were paying. As my friend said "$129 for chair 8?" :?:

Surprisingly fun today once chair 4 opened about 1pm. Had several untracked runs although you only leave a track that's about an inch or two deep. Some icy hard spots, some crust, mostly just heavy fun snow.

paid $152 this Friday and $100 for June Saturday with only J2 open. I've always just brushed off ticket prices as a cost of loving the sport, but come on. The PE firm must be getting ready to sell cause the marketing department is pumping out a lot of BS and these prices are insane.

I was at June Saturday as well! I know it was more windy up top but I feel like they could have opened up the quad.

Looks like very few lifts will open today with a blizzard warning in effect.

I propose a new topic:
"Mammoth Mountain Current Ticket Price Conditions"

So the conditions on Sunday:
Mountain closed. Imminent flooding. Life threatening travel conditions. Advised to visitors to get out of town on Saturday if possible.

I gave two of my staff members BAF invites. Which they purchased (in advance, not knowing what was going down on Sunday). They both got to use 2 of their 3 day tickets. When called on Monday morning, 800mammoth advised them that they couldn't get credited for the unused Sunday tickets because they had to be THERE on Sunday to claim the credit.

I feel like my friends got screwed out of their 140 bucks (total) and I got screwed out of two BAF points!

:swear:

That said, Thursday-Saturday was great fun for me. So glad I don't have to do the daily ticket price dance with the parasitic PE MMSA owners.

I would expect them to offer a rain check for Sunday.

Wow. I can understand charging more on popular days (though it's counter intuitive, pay more for longer lines), or less during slow periods. But charging more for good conditions? That's pretty lame.

The mountain was completely closed on Sunday. They should definitely get a voucher.
