It's been an amazing season and Mammoth has already announced they'll be open until the 4th of July but how long do you really think they'll stay open for skiing and boarding?

There you have it forumites. From the queen of the forum. Mammoth will be open until they close. So glad I'm not burdened with making these predictions.

Hey ogt Im wondering about you. Hows this winter in SLT? Got my tomatoes in today and 8 seed starts of 3 different chiles sprouted plus a 2nd gen jalapeno bush going off already. Be it ever so humble theres nothing like a garden.

At the early-ups breakfast in March - whoever from mgmt was speaking said until July 4 (a Tuesday this year).
Someone in the crowd suggested later - and he said no.
FWIW

you're not going to like her answer for the question:

"how low is the snow falling?"

answer: all the way to the ground

2NA, I have an unbelievable garden/farm going in Lodi. Lots of winter veggies still. Spinach, broccoli, lettuces, peas and lots of other stuff. I've finished putting 17 tomato plants in the ground and am working on the 32 pepper plants now. The soil in Lodi is amazing but I still enhance it a bit. There used to be a vineyard where by gardens are now. I have five 4' X 8' raised beds and other assorted plots.

Still have my place in Tahoe but I'm not growing anything there at the moment.

Mountain Bike Park and the Adventure Center will run out of Canyon this Summer. Skiing until at least the end of July.

OT but what happens to thru travelers on long hikes like the Pacific Crest and John Muir trails when there is such a massive amount of snow on the ground? Can they even navigate if they wanted to pursue their trip? Is all that cached food buried?

On second thought, dont reply here I'm going to post in the Summer forum.

Open till Vail buys Mammoth and shuts it down because it's only being used by brown-bagging, pass-holding parasites that don't add revenue to the bottom line.
