My buddy says that Drop Out chutes are really fun. No lines now that everyone has spread out.

Awesome first day of the season for me. Was not expecting it to be as good as it was, and it just got better in the afternoon when the winds picked up, and crowds died down. The mountain looks incredible for mid November.

Thanksgiving week update:
Canyon Lodge will be open for tickets and access only this Thursday-Sunday!

Since ESTA hasn't updated their Red Line message from their closing day in 16-17, can someone tell me if the Red Line is now running all the way up to Main Lodge now? Thanks much!

Schoolyard Express (17) will be open for access this weekend. Woohoo no driving up to Stump or Main Lodge and dealing with all the traffic.

Today had good snow with flat light and enough humidity that I had to dry my goggles several times per run.

I'm sure it was just because of the drive home from the mountain. 8-)

After my CERT training this evening I had dinner with a couple on my team who both drive for ESTA. The Red Line began it's route going directly to Main Lodge last Friday. They said ESTA is notorious for NOT updating their website. Sheesh...what good is that while trying to reduce our carbon footprint and make our town more feet and bus friendly? :x

Yesterdays mist and light rain sure messed things up, can you say FIRM with icy conditions off the groomers. Wait till 10 AM to go out unless you like to ski cement. :(

First day of the 17-18 season for me today on some wonderful snow. Took the bus up and I was on the hill by 8:45 and off at 10:15 when the crowds began to build and the snow got sticky. Warm up there today and I was overdressed. Great early season coverage which we are so thankful for. Just amazing skiing without prescription glasses under my goggles since my cataract surgery - even treated myself to a pair of new goggles that were not OTG (over the glasses with a fan) at Footloose's anniversary sale two weeks ago. Now I'll wait until after the holiday to go up again. Nice remodel and new stairs off the sundeck. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Thanks for the pics. I shared them with family who were over for Thanksgiving. Plan to come up in January and happy to see the good start to the season.

I'll bet skiing with no glasses on is a great feeling. :geek:

Day 2! The wind machine was on today...fabulous down slope wind buffing out the buttery snow. Thought I was going to be skiing alone, but Skipunk found me at the top of 6 and away we went hitting runs off 2, 10, 5 and 4. Absolute ego snow today made for a very happy girl! :) Best snow this session...on Solitude! Hoping that Day 3 will be on my b-day next Monday.

Lots of Marines out practicing tele turns today from the Mountain Warfare Training Center in Coleville. I stopped to thank one group for their service.

Thanks, LLC19! Fun was definitely had! :inlove:

The deck is the same size, but the west end is compartmentalized a little more due to the new furnishings. They really brought it up to a more modern, living-room style deck.
