IKON is clogging my Instagram feed with posts, and every one has multiple comments asking for details. I think their target market is already weary of the hype and wants to know what it's going to cost. I know I do.

Bottom Line -IKON will need to compete with EPIC and this isn’t a great season to build the price on. Best snow this year is in Montana, not Colorado, Utah, or California and people from California are not going to travel to the East Coast for snow. So the IKON resorts aren’t working off a good year except for Big Sky. As it is, more people are gravitating to less expensive sports. Friends every year that were excellent skiers are giving it up, and not because of health or injury. Mostly due to hassle, expense, and other sport options.

I’m trying to make the senior pass in a few years but if I get seriously hurt in a collision, I will join them - I’ve been taken out three times by a snowboarder from behind in the last ten years and very lucky each time although one left me pretty bruised when my back fell onto his board. Many close misses from skiers too - makes an old lady rethink her priorities. And I already avoid weekends/crowds.

^ I'm with you, oldskier! ;)

Alright, I like this...

about $250 more than what I paid for my California Pass renewal, 10 "BAF" (though its only 25% now), and they've added unlimited riding to a bunch of resorts that I actually might try out.

I'm in

Just reviewed the price lines for the IKON Pass. Really sad to see that no senior discount pass will be available and the $599 pass allows only five days at Mammoth! It is quite a financial jump for me to swallow the new $899 cost of an unlimited pass to Mammoth.

My take away is that the $900 pass is a decent deal for us Mammoth-centered folks and a bum deal if you're at one of the places that only allows 7 days.

And I bet the $600 pass will funnel more traffic into June. Prepare yourselves...

I am not sure what I am going to do. $200 each pass more is quite a big jump in price for us, but I love the convenience of skiing a couple hours at the beginning or the end of our trips and not worrying about the conditions. So we are really going to have to give this some serious thought.

There is also an IKON Base Pass $599 - but not much good for people focused on Mammoth as only five days at Mammoth are permitted, with the typical xmas/mlk/prez blackout periods. The Base Pass is good for unlimited access (subject to blackouts) to Squawlpine - so it's a good option for some.

I'll pay $899 - it's only $100 more than the Premium Pass I bought last year. I'll miss the 1/2 price BAF's for my family. Is discounted pass cash gone?

A season pass to the Aspen resorts this year costs $1,849, which is likely why they capped days at Aspen with the IKON pass.

Not happy that u can’t use the base pass for Mammoth (for more than 5days) but u can for Squaw -what is up with that? But happy that we can take a nice travel trip and spend less $$ at Mammoth since both of us will be retired next year and can take a long trip.

Three major flaws in this IKON pass.
1. No Senior Pass
2. No California Pass
3. Severe limitation on ski days at Mammoth with IKON Base Pass. (limited to 5 days)

What kind of a base pass is that when your base isn't on the list of unlimited? That's kind of strange. And June is considered a base? That's even stranger.
The Epic pass doesn't have limitations like that does it?

I'm out folks and will be giving up my locker at Main. Hope some of my Host friends can spare a few vouchers in future seasons because that will be the only way I will be able to alpine ski on Mammoth or June. I see more free trail xc skiing in my future.

I think Mammoth Resorts are going to lose a LOT of customers over this new pass. Very short-sighted not to offer an unlimited pass for just MM and JM.

I am wondering what the daily lift ticket price is going to be. They can't market that the pass pays for itself under 8 days any more. :@
