Did you guys see this? Did you participate in it? And more importantly did you get your money?

I got in and expect to get $100 or so. I once got over $200 from a hotel chain robocall class action.

I wonder if we'll ever know what happened to the employee who suggested what a great idea the robocalls would be. Seems like MMSA lost well over 10% of their season pass gross from the screwup.

Edit: the check's in my mailbox right now at home, time to buy more Kinco gloves!!!

Edit2: cha-ching the doc sez $345.37, I'll do Edit3 when I return from D.C.

I would have thought everyone would have received the same amount?

They will (we gave the principal an extra 5000 tho). Whoever the lawyers were got most of the loot, and of course the California Public Utilities Commission is the first to thank!

Here's some old links.

You got $345? I only got $328. I wonder why the difference.

Just FYI, this works really well;
https://www.nomorobo.com/
My home phone (yes, I still have one) rings once for telemarketers then NOMOROBO picks up and kills the call. Real calls get through.

For AT&T cell phone customers, I have also been having success with the Call Protect app.

OTOH...
Looks like I am out >$300 because Mammoth didn't Robo-call me :( Meh - probably not. I haven't been a season pass holder for a while now and it looks like you would have gotten a postcard even if they didn't get through.

It was March 2014 re the 2015 pass, but you didn't have to have bought the pass. It probably tried to call everybody who ever bought one in the previous several seasons but somewhere in there they got their databases mixed up. For all we know the time they spent trying to merge the databases coulda been the time they were supposed to read the robocall manual with the big red warning notice to California companies who bought the software oops.

I think my secretary took the call, am I supposed to give her the loot?

I was just reporting a number received on my AT&T phone - will try this app.

Another FYI - NOMOROBO works with cell phones too but there is a fee for that. NOMOROBO for land lines and Call Protect are both free.

Edit to add;
I have had no luck with the federal DO NOT CALL program. My number has been registered from the start - reporting anyone who calls you is like spitting into the wind. As near as I can tell it only generates a list that anybody following the rules should be using when they robo call. That's probably why Mammoth got in trouble - they didn't follow the list and got caught. That's not where most robo calls come from though, and the people who are getting through also are likely trying to scam you. I kindof feel bad for Mammoth - they at least were calling people who they have an existing business relationship with and really are offering a service. I still don't want them calling me, but that can be forgiven IMHO. Good for you if you got a check - chances are you will be spending it on Mammoth eventually.

Hey Boardad, I too have a landline, signed up for the Federal "Do not call" since it was implemented & even "resigned" up several times, to no avail. I just tried to sign up for your NOMOROBO program but unfortunately I do not have a "simultaneous ring feature button" that the instructions call for to enter the magic phone # that blocks the calls. Unfortunately, COX has yet to implement this new feature in my City, but are in the process of implementing it nationwide. Can't wait for it to reach me! The mere fact that help is on the way makes my life better already!

Weird, my wife got settlement $ & I didn't. We have the same landline #. Not sure if she even had a cell phone in 2014.

The other thing I did to restore silence was I changed political parties. The (D)'s and the (R)'s have huge war chests that they can annoy you with. Everyone else does not - or register "undeclared", either way. My wife and I were registered on opposite sides of the aisle so we would come home to a full answering machine for weeks leading up to the election. Not anymore - we both changed and the calls have ended completely. National primaries are over by the time they get to CA and the state primaries are now top 2 so you really aren't missing out on anything.
