Reading the book, "Beneath a Scarlett Sky" by Mark Sutherland about Pino Lella, an Italian World War II hero who helped Jews escape Nazis by guiding them over the Italian Alps and then infiltrated the German high command as a spy. He later moved to the U.S. and lived in Mammoth Lakes. I did a bit of online research and it appears he was one of Dave McCoy's first ski instructors. I found one link with a picture of him (below), but I can't really find much else. The lnk has some other fun pics too.

Does anyone know more about Pino Lella's time in Mammoth Lakes?

Great book and should be a great movie..
