395 is going to be closed south of Lone Pine according to the radio dispatch I just heard. Fire is about 5 miles north of Lone Pine east of 395 and moving south quickly.

^ Beat me to it. Been listening to the incident since this morning while in and out of the house.

3:00 p.m. Anybody traveling 395 today, be aware of the #SpillwayFire off Highway 395 and Moffat Ranch Road east of Manzanar, north of Lone Pine which is now 120 acres (started around 10:30 this morning). 395 is closed SB at Manzanar and NB at Lone Pine.

#spillwayfire Update*- now 120 acres, Fire is East of Hwy 395, crews making good progress, Fire still confined to the river bottom. Winds around 20 mph. High tension power lines are a hazard in the area. Continued assistance from @InyoInfo and local govt. resources.

#spillwayfire renamed #moffetfire- 300 acres, fire still heading south towards Lone Pine. Hwy 395 closed both directions from Lone Pine Rd to Manizar Rd to facilitate fire equipment. Fire has not crossed Hwy 395 and no current evacuations #moffetfire

Fire name has been changed to Moffat Fire. Now 300 acres and burning toward Lone Pine in high winds. I heard the LP hospital is being evacuated.

A friend of mine who lives in LP reported this:

"Just spoke to an ICSO on scene at the closure. Staging is now taking place. Northbound is closed at Pangborn just north of town. You will need to turn around at Narrow Guage or take Pangborn and wait it out on the Sierra side."

Calfire has misspelled Moffat and Manzanar!

395 is open again and traffic is moving. Fire is not burning aggressively now probably due to the air support. Looks like Lone Pine is going to be safe.

^ Not sure where you are getting that info. 395 is still closed at Pangborn north of LP with no detour.

Oh never mind...you must have me on your foe list so you can't read my posts. :D

4:53 update on CHP CAD: NB escorts have begun.

5:00 update: Escorts now in both directions.

I had to leave for a meeting at 5:15, but at 5:08, both lanes of traffic were reopened with CHP monitoring nearby. Watch for fire equipment!
