Can anyone recommend a place in greater LA for purchasing cross country ski equipment?
My wife wants to get her own gear - I'm striking out as far as finding a place where there are knowledgeable people and inventory in-store...
If not down south - anywhere special in Mammoth I should start?

Thanks!

I'm not sure but I think that the Nordic center up at Twin Lakes has a used equipment sale on Thanksgiving weekend.

I would start with Sport Chalet La Canada and REI Santa Ana

Hold off until you can come up here and meet Brian of Brian's Bicycles and Cross Country Skis at 3059 Chateau Road, Mammoth Lakes CA (760) 924-8566. He IS the man!

Thanks everyone for your input. Here's a recap in case anyone searches this thread in the future.

As best I can tell - there is nowhere to buy cross country gear in Greater LA from a real store with a real salesperson:
Arcadia REI referred me to Rancho Cucamonga REI who referred me to Tustin REI who told me only REI stores from Sacto north carry cross-country gear in store.
Sport Chalet - no in-store cross country gear.
Adventure 16 - no in-store cross country gear.
Google, YELP, etc - no suggestions for LA cross country gear

I'll be checking out Brian's shop (and the other usual suspects) in TOML next time I'm up.
