Rough ride up. Chain control at Nyak, slow going but made it safe and sound. Had a short window before the snow started again. By noon it was dumping.

last week Heavenly was just heavenly. Thursday nite dropped something like 18"+. Riding up the chair on friday morning it was cool to watch the first chair chargers barrel down gunbarrel, pow flowing over their heads. It continued to drop another foot+ with light winds throughout the day. This is what my van looked like when we got back to my brothers condo. Friday night dropped maybe another 6" or so so Sat was a great also.

New snow, cold temps made for a good day. My head was on a swivel though, lot's of folks on the hill for the weekend. Skied Comet,North Bowl, Olympic Express and Stagecoach. Those lifts/runs had the fewest folks and best visibility.

The rain event is not going to help Tahoe at all. Heavenly and Northstar are planning to close on 4-22. Diamond Peak 4-15. Got my fingers crossed that Alpine, Squaw and Mt. Rose weather the storm and we have some lower snow levels. Sugar Bowl will probably get rain too. I hope Mammoth gets all snow, cause they might be the only game in town, and I am not ready to stop skiing yet.

All we can do is hope for cold air to move in and let it snow.

^ This is setting up for a very bad scenario in Reno. Fingers crossed this comes in colder than predicted - but not looking good!

It's forecast to just reach 10ft which is flood stage:

Very high flows, but no flooding from Mogul to US Highway 395, including downtown Reno. Just downstream, Reno Hilton RV Park, Truckee River bike path, and parks along river begin to flood at this stage. USGS 10 year flood.

And it is hammering down rain right now in West Roseville. We have a small stream advisory going on here, and I think one for the west slope of the Sierra (along with the east slope). Radar showing rain over Donner Summit. :worried: :(

Just checked Mt. Rose cams....looks like rain at 8260, snow at 9700, bummer.

Rose is closing April 29 - :| :(
