OGT, i think i get some reduced passes with my Rose full pass. We can make this work...
Let me check it out. Also, with the Tahoe Value Pass I get discounts at the lodges for beverages and chow.

I am anxious to ski June again. We graduated from the LA local mtns to June for our first Sierra trip.

Cool, I get some BAF discounts at June with my pass too. And The Tiger Bar is always local friendly...

OGT, Hope you are having a great time up at the Lake. There really is a lot to do up there. The locals have to hibernate during holidays and get food for a week at a time.

Go up Sierra Blvd. to Knox and turn right. I lived in the old log cabin that is still there. There were a lot of vacant lots at that time. Many of the kids I went to high school with lived in that neighborhood and grew up there.

The Truckee River is close by where we hung out as kids in the 50s.

When you see Ben and the boys ride up at the opening of Bonanza, it was filmed down from Stateline in the meadow.

Every time I see that it takes me back. Way back to a different time.

But Tahoe is timeless. The old girl is still a beauty despite all the development. Very dear to my heart.

^ Love that part of S.F. If you need any restaurant recommendations, check out Tadich Grill (oldest restaurant in the city), http://www.tadichgrill.com/ -- also Belden Place (cute alley with a bunch of restaurants -- I liked Brindisi) .... http://www.belden-place.com/

Both easy walking distance from where you are.

RBS-you must be reading my mind. Mrs Z was just asking me that. We are in the SF Center now, Bloomingdales or Tiffany's ?

^ Let me know if you end up at any of my recommendations and what you thought. My firm sent me up to our S.F. office 4 years ago for a few weeks. Had the best time walking around all over the place at night by myself and taking photos -- and eating lots of dungeness crab. :P

"I'm walkin' through the Frisco, headin' for the Fillmore and Haight. You know I'm in a hurry-I got myself a little date."

Do you know what it was like to be born in SF, go to elementary school and college there, run from cops in student demonstrations, attend massive amounts of music concerts, and....

I didn't think so.

Don't you worry though, because every summer guess where the kid was going?

That's right, good old Lake Tahoe.

That's called making the best of both worlds. I did it, and I am glad I did it. Wouldn't change one dang thing for the world.

RBS:

Last night we tried the Tadich, but it was packed, alot of Financial District cocktail swilling going on in there. So we rode the California St Cable Car to Grant street. Hopped off and had Chinese food at the Far East Cafe. Across the street from Old St. Marys Church. Pretty good stuff. Love Chinatown.

Thanks for the recommendations, did not have enouch time to try the Belden Ln places...

Yeah, Tadich Grill a popular place, but glad you found somewhere else that was also good.

Sam Woos. You could have walked right up to North Beach and gone to City Lights Bookstore where all the cool people hang out.
