Did someone move June Mt. to Reno???

Nice pics. I have fond memories of Mt. Rose. And the Peppermill. Mt. Rose used to offer Discrimation Based on Gender Wednesdays for $12, which my friends and I took advantage of.

No, that's not J7 but for a minute I thought that I had made a wrong turn and ended up at June.

Image

This place is just a bit steeper than June in places though. Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics, this was just before my phone went dead. Rarely ride with a camera anymore unless I'm with a friend or 3.

There are a lot of similarities between the two mountains Cheapski. It still has some of the "old" type ski area....not the "resort" feel.

Made a day trip on Thursday 4-9-15

Mt. Rose (Slide Bowl - Silver Dollar Run pictured) version of the WROD

Slide Bowl side was spring like....Rose side had better coverage, but firm in spots.
Mammoth,Sugar Bowl,Northstar and Rose ski teams were running the gates on the ""skinny" skis...Nice....

Just saw on Mt.Rose website that more snow-making is going in on the Slide Bowl side...probably Big Bonanza run to Winters Creek Lodge.....

No, I definitely heard him correctly. The guy at Roadrunner in Myers said "Kirkwood got 3 ft."

One guy was partially buried. There's been a few incidents this year so far in the West. Luckily only minor stuff so far. Hopefully people will plan, pay attention to conditions and use caution.

Cold and cloudy today at Heavenly. I didn't last long. My eyes aren't the greatest anyways and I don't like to ride by braille.

A few from the past week here in SLT... I live in a pretty cool neighborhood... The house with the white picket fence was built in 1908...

I'm excited to see what a decent winter here looks like.
