That's a great choice! I was guessing either her or Chloe Kim (since the entire women's hockey team cannot hold the flag at once).

Total respect - the US women KILLED it this time around!

She's an advertiser's dream too. The endorsements will come rolling in. I'm really happy about the visibility she's given to cross country skiing and maybe even biathlon as a side. Nation's sweetheart.

The US Men just tied their highest biathlon finish with 6th. Good going, time to build these skiing teams.

Who else is watching the gold medal match in men's curling? Great match so far!

^^ I guess we can’t joke about curling anymore. Speaking of jokes, how does the US Ski Team lose to Great Britan in the Alpine team event? Good stuff tonight, but not as good as Wednesday night! But now I think they need another event - combined ski and snowboard racing. To make it really wild add in a telemark slalom too😀

Ester Ledecka won her snowboarding event too! First woman to win Golds in 2 different disciplines in a single Winter Olympics.

Does anybody else think the skip for the US team looks like John Goodman and expects Roseanne to be cheering in the stands?

Did MPB create the South Korean women's curling team? They're in the Gold medal match vs Sweden on Sunday.

The Garlic Girls are so named because of the small garlic-producing region they come from. Then there are the names they gave each other after sitting down for breakfast one day: Steak, Yogurt, Pancake, Sunny and Chocho.

Apparently S Korea is in the grip of curling fever because of them.

Marvelous closing ceremony! I cried when the torch was extinguished. Going to go through Olympics withdrawals now.

I feel like we hardly got any background on the host country and the people this time around. On the other hand, I liked that they could switch to live on the East Coast late and our late primetime like for the Women's Hockey shootout.

Bode Miller has the most sonorous voice ever.

Looking forward; here's where the alpine events will be held in 4 years;
https://gizmodo.com/heres-the-2022-winter-olympics-venue-in-the-middle-of-1721529580

Good news is they will finally find a use for the summer Olympic venues. The Opening/Closing will be in the Birdcage, curling (WOOT!) in the Cube (where swimming was) - speed skating and I have to believe short track will also use existing facilities.

I'm still riding high from the xc win. For anyone interested, this guy broke down how the US won the race with some humorous asides thrown in. Its funny to see how very sloppy Diggins actually is, and I went onto her website to see that she has been criticized for that. But hey, she won, and bumblebees arent supposed to fly either.

Her website is a good read too. If nothing else she has a career as a motivational speaker.

Does anybody else watch the Olympic Channel? I just discovered it last week and you dont have to have a cable provider or anything to watch the live tv. I've been watching the World Cup XC races in Europe.

https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/tv/

I had no idea xc was that popular over there. I just saw a 50km race in a photo finish and the podium winners struggling to hold their prize Gruyere cheese wedge with the flowers and their ski gear.

You just have to be willing to watch at odd hours of the night when the rest of the world is holding events.

I have it on my CCI cable package here in Roseville. Watched the Women's GS from Ofterschwang Deutschland last night. Good race. Schffrin finished third, strong race on her part. They cover it all on this channel
