Pulled into town and stopped by Footloose to see if they had the Blizard Black Pearl ski to demo. They had a brand new pair $750 on sale 40% off = $450. They also had it as a demo and when I asked how much it would be to buy the demo, he said $775 -- claimed it had a $300 Marker binding on it. I told him, so let me get this clear - if I bought the BRAND NEW ski @ $450 and the $300 Marker binding, that is $25 less than your demo ski and binding that are USED -- say the USED demo ski is the same price as the brand new one and the binding is $25 more! Out of there.

This is now the 4th stupid experience I have had with Footloose.

Tonight, I've haven't seen the village so busy in quite a while. Gomez's had a 90 minute wait at 5:45. Campos had a 2 hour wait. We went to Grumpy's for dinner. After dinner we went back to the village to possibly spend our $60 gift cards at McCoy's Sports. Walked in at 7:50 and they told us they close in 10 minutes. Our friend was interested in buying a $300 jacket. But, they chased us out of there. We went to Kittredege and she ended up buying a Nils jacket there instead. Why would McCoy's Sports close so early, when it's so busy? And why would they chase business out of there?

Could be a strict corporate NO OVERTIME policy. Stranger things have happened

I always prefer to support my local ski shop in Woodland Hills called Sports Ltd. Of course, they will match any price, but they have always had a deal where if you do not like the ski and you have not trashed it, you get a complete credit towards other merchandise.

After going to Kittridge tonight, not so sure the Black Pearl would be what I want - sounds soft in the front and tail. I really liked the Rossi Temptation 88 that I demoed in Canada. None of these stores has that ski now.

And my whole point was, Footloose is selling their USED equipment no cheaper than the same brand new stuff. The binding was the kind that adjusted, so no re-mounting labor needed.

I heard from a "friend"(weatherman) that this year there will be some really good deals on snow gear based on the snow levels this year. Sports LTD really hooked me up a few years ago. I got 2 Libtech(191 and 188) NAS skis and look pivot 14 bindings and the same with the Rossignol label and a pair of boots for under $1300 a 2 years ago in June. (after that bad season.)
thanks bye

Got the Black Pearls for tomorrow and will definately be interesting how they compare with Temptation 88s.

Still like the Rossi's more, fun quick turns. Both hold firm snow good, but still think Rossi's are a bit ahead there too. Black Pearl felt a bit bouncy in the crud bumps, but after awhile, just ignored that.
