Hello,

my name is Joel and I just moved to Bakersifeld with my wife. Not the ideal winter sports town, but just close enough to mammoth.
I grew up in Salt lake city and have been snowboarding for 18 years. I went to mammoth for the 1st time over presidents weekend and loved it. Its hard to find people to go up with and so i decided to join this forum to connect with people driving up to mammoth, or find people to ride with. I'm coming up on monday, hopefully for this storm I keep hearing about.

Welcome to the forum! I'm not sure how easy it will be to find a rideshare from Bakersfield but you should be able to find some people to ride with. Hopefully Mammoth gets several feet of snow in the next couple of days!

Unretired Skibum here! Moved here last August. Work for the State down in Bishop and live in Mammoth. Love living here and appreciate all the great people I have met so far. After taking 9 years off from skiing I decided to come out of retirement now that I live at the base of one of the best mountains I have skied. After a crazy winter, I am pretty stoked with today's dumpage!!

"Work for the State down in Bishop and live in Mammoth."

This is highly unusual, because so many people live in Bishop and drive to Mammoth to work.

That is an interesting reversal, and I hope you like your job with the State.

There is no such thing as retirement.

And as soon as you think you are all set up to do so, you can be robbed by illness or disease.

Moral of the story: You better have some fun while you still can.

Work hard, play hard, stay hard-pard!

Want to bet WS? Some of the finest times of my life the last five years. And I won't be 65 for another 2 weeks. I love retirement.
