I hope thats true about the flow getting diverted to CA. I think La Nina years are good for around here.

Yeah it looks better already IMO. Its real juicy from HI and its nice winter storm to MEX where theres a serious collision going on as that jet sw slams into that subtrop stuff mid baja. Its gonna hook up!

Which brings us to ML MEX and the last bit of Otto coming ashore on my head like the period at the end of the epac weather sentence.

^Cool perspective right now. I left last Sun in the rain in OC and Im where the front crosses ML Mex now on the loop above PV. My dad is about roughly halfway to SoCal and most of you are there. You had SAs, my dad had first rainrain in half a year or more and the subsequent cold n 30kts of wind. The front just passed me again and it is finaly calm n clear again as of 10p local (8p pst) after a full days tropical weather (w coincidental help from Otto) and another full day blow from the NW. Id guestimate about 3/4in rain fell in a day n a half. Hoping to get on the water again tomorrow after two landlocked daze. Then back home for the next pattern change. Loop is looking better.

This is pretty impressive. Nock-10 before it hit the Philippines and when it was perfectly symmetrical and crankin.

So we've got the remnants of Pali in the Central Pacific and ALEX! in the Atlantic. Alex has been acting strange all across the basin.

Starting early or ending late?

Only 4 months late for 2017. We have Arlene.

"Tropical Depression One-E as seen on Tuesday afternoon, May 9, 2017, by the VIIRS instrument on the Suomi satellite. At the time, the storm was the earliest tropical depression ever observed in the Eastern Pacific; the system became Tropical Storm Adrian later that evening.

The Eastern Pacific hurricane season is off to a record-early start after the formation of Tropical Storm Adrian on Tuesday, May 9. The previous earliest appearance of a tropical depression in the Eastern Pacific since reliable satellite records began in 1970 was on May 12, 1990, when Tropical Storm Alma got its start. Three other systems got their start on May 13, according to NOAA’s Historical Hurricane Tracks website."

Be grateful there was even a 2016 one. I thought the old thread would keep getting washed and rinsed.

Yes, but at some point the season switches to 2017-2018. June? July?
