BY WEDNESDAY...THE ELONGATED UPPER TROUGH ALONG
THE COAST OF NOCAL...WILL DIG SOUTH AND BEGIN TO PULL SOME OF THE
MOISTURE REMNANTS FROM WHAT IS NOW HURRICANE ANDRES LATER IN THE
WEEK...LIKELY FOR AREAS SOUTH AND EAST OF LA COUNTY.

But first, a bit of weather.

Something to break up the same ol' same ol'....??
Lox this AM
"Friday and saturdays forecast is still very much in the air. The GFS
continues its wet thinking and entrains most of the moisture from a
tropical system moving off the Mexico coast. It brings a great deal
of rain to Orange County and the ie and significant but lesser
amounts to l.A. County and then even less to vta
. Sba and slo County
will likely miss most of the action.

But wait...

The ec pushes the tropical system off to the west and is completely
dry.

Both models have been consistent with their respective forecasts for
the past 48 hours. For now brought a 20 percent chance of showers or
thunderstorms to la County Friday into Saturday - but this forecast is going
to take more than a few twists and turns before Friday arrives. It
is probably safe to say that it will mostly cloudy and cool."

I'll be surprised if anything makes it up here. Like most track forecasts it extends the life of the cyclone well past its sell date. I think it will spin down very quickly and be shunted off east before anything can gain latitude.

I like the stuff pushing up mainland MEX plus Blanca and getting drawn toward that UL offshore of SoCal.

It's practically tropical weather tonight 71 degrees and humid. Radar looks impressive but I'm sure it's mostly virga except under strong cell.

Watched a ton of lightning from the Santa Monica Mountains looking west-southwest, but much of it was barely visible on the horizon. Saw some really solid bolts but it was much too far to take any video or pics, too bad it was over 100 miles away...
