570 for 04/05. All from Mammoths snowfall table.

The old version of the snowfall table had 607" for 04/05 and 668" for 05/06. After a server crash and massive data loss they recreated the snowfall table from the patrol data which reduced totals by about 10%.

The current record is 668.5" from 10/11.

Here's a screen shot of the old table that I have archived:

The table on the Mammoth website has 472.4" for 92/93. The archived data I have has 617" which was the record until it was broken in 05/06. I'm sure some forumites have the commemorative t-shirts from that year.

This is only the 8th year with 500+ inches for the season (based on the online snowfall table).

Snowing pretty good on the McCoy cam. Another .40" precip since 7am and it looks like Mammoth is just getting into the flow. Maybe that 2.5"+ qpf will verify after all. Unfortunately it's 33.5° at Main Lodge so it'll be sloppy. Snow levels are forecast to drop through Thursday.

No surprise re: snain. I said snow levels will be well above 8K, and possibly it snained all the way to the top of the hill on Monday afternoon. Look at the sesame 24hr 34 degrees @ 100% humid- hence, unlikely it was all snow at mccoy...google wet bulb/dew point, air is saturated coupled w solar heating. I also saw earlier summit readings during the afternoon show sustained 100% RH with 32-33 degrees so it could have snained all the way to the top : ( .Of course total assumption on my end, I need 420 to confirm this....I since fired my source.

Latest 0z euro deterministic has precip event ending tuesday nite with the rest of the week storm track staying north. I dont see snow levels dropping below 7500k thru the rest of this event.

any storm this point on thru summer is a nuisance

Wow it really picked up after midnight and patrol site is showing 5" of snow. 48 hour precipitation is over 2 1/2" now and the 5" should put Mammoth over the 600" mark.

Back to Back 600" years would be nice. Dry years always seem to string together, it would be great if we could get a run of four or five really wet years in a row.
I know the town needed a break but it was too bad the end of Feb. and the month of March were so quiet, we could have set a new snowfall record and maybe even had a shot at the 700" mark.
What an incredible year. The back country is going to be beautiful this summer. Not that it isn't always beautiful but this year there should be some huge snow fields left through the summer and lots of water flowing well into fall. Should be a banner year for the falls in Yosemite.

According to the 6 hourly breakdown for today it should go right on thru the afternoon.

Fresh Snow Alert
7-10" of new snow overnight. Yesterday we saw a mix of rain and snow showers during the day, but last night it turned and we woke up to more fresh snow. We have now surpassed 600" of total season snowfall with 602"! With 12-20" in the last two days

Is this real 602" or Marketing 602"?

It's as real as it gets. They seem to do a better job reporting amounts that are inline with the official patrol records and the sesame street automated gauge.

*edit*

check out the McCoy cam it's dumping. Looks like a mix at Canyon and it's empty...as expected after Easter weekend.

I still have my t-shirt from that year, too. Shows Woolly buried in snow..LOL!

It rained steadily at our elevation in town all last night. Started to snow and stick in town around noon today, but turned back to rain and now it's pouring. Looking at the sloppy web cams it appears that only a few hardy souls are out on the hill today.
