I shoveled (pushed) 2" of wet glop off our front porch and steps when I got home from my CERT CPR training last night around 9:30. Roads were black, but slick.

Windy on the hill this a.m. and 32 at Main and 26 at the top. Gray and 45 in town. Just started a fire. Happy spring! :D

Freaking cold and windy all day today. Raining in town this evening, but it looks like winter on the hill...brrr. Time to start another fire. If this keeps up we're going to be out of pellets!

McCoy at 8:00 p.m.

I used heat in Fullerton last night for the first time in months. That's very rare in mid-May, not that I'm complaining of course.

Another 0.20" at Sesame. Looked like some flakes at the village and all snow at Main. Maybe another inch and a half!

Per the Patrol archive, in that big 2011 year on May 17 the base was 128" and that day also recorded 4" of new snow.

Very late edit

At this point in 2011, there was still 128" base from 640" snowfall as of May 17.
At this point now, there is 142" base from whatever is added to the total of 618" from May 8 reported.

Projected occupancy for this weekend, next week and Memorial Day weekend. The holiday w/e numbers will more than likely go up in next week's report.

https://gis.mono.ca.gov/apps/mlt/data/a ... -114302485

Quote:
Total Average Occupancy

Fri May 19 2017 57%
Sat May 20 2017 59%
Sun May 21 2017 45%
Mon May 22 2017 41%
Tue May 23 2017 45%
Wed May 24 2017 42%
Thu May 25 2017 48%
Fri May 26 2017 77%
Sat May 27 2017 92%
Sun May 28 2017 85%

With no campgrounds open above 9K and the Lakes Basin Road not plowed yet, town is going to be pretty busy with folks staying in condos and second homes.

Don't forget the Mule Days Parade on Saturday, 5/27 begins at 10:00. There will be a detour off Main St./395.

The Mammoth Museum at the Hayden Cabin opens for the season on Saturday, 5/27 so come and visit!
