This is so nice. Had to be said.
But May showers bring battered flowers.
Not the fancy tempura ones either.

Exactly why I wrote that because we were experiencing that yesterday! Thunder snow is supposed to continue for the next couple of days, too!

P.S. All of Verizon services and some At&T service went out in Inyo & Mono Counties yesterday around 4:00 p.m. Everything was still down until we went to bed last night, but had been repaired by the time I got up this morning around 6:30. Rumors are either a tower was struck by lightning or another fiber optic line was accidentally severed down in Ridgecrest - which happens at least once or twice a year - don't folks know to call 811 "BEFORE YOU DIG"?

Thunderstorm type with big drops coming in from the east can only mean one thing....Heavy rain now.
Too windy for it to hang around...

Well it has exited the county. Its SDs L now.
I ended up about 3x what I expected out of the deal. My tube wasnt out but w/in my triangle of gauges, they range 0.67 to 0.78". Cleaned up the air nicely. Sunset was crisp. I also caught a glimpse of the San Gabes w low snow. Never saw the SAs but it got snow.

This is Mike Seidel at The Weather Channel. Can we use your photo with credit to you on TWC and NBC platforms? Where and when did you shoot it? Thanks!

Beautiful pic! My friend said she was in Cerritos and Whittier at different times and both had big tstorms pouring down rain and thunder and lightning.

.EVENING UPDATE...

Wow! It's been an unusual weather day across SoCal for this time of
the year! We saw several flooding events in San Diego County due to
heavy rain, heavy snow in the mountains, especially at Palomar
Mountain, which may see around one foot of new snow by the time all
is said and done
, and to top it all off one report of a tornado in
the Apple Valley/Victorville area in San Bernardino County, which
luckily didn't cause any damage or injuries.

Forecast was relatively accurate...give or take, some north, some south. General idea came through...good soaking for SD and vicinity.
