I'm seeing a high of 88 predicted for next Tuesday in town.

I was planning on going out on the mountain this weekend for the last time this year, looks like I better get out there when they first open in the morning. I don't know, sounds like it's going to be pretty hot, slushy and wet.

Inversion layers (been there off and on for a month now), most def Mccoy can get in the 80's during this heat wave if main is in the low 70's. yesterdays highs:
summit 63.2
mccoy 71.8
main 62.8
data from mammoth website,
patrol site has not been working since june 14...again!
Sesame base measurement I est should be somewhere in the mid 50's.
I wonder if/when they'll change the closing to 1pm.

lol, I'm not overly picky but I would have to say slushy is something I would prefer to avoid.

The forecast for Death Valley on Wednesday is 128. Yes, 128°. That's just 6° off the hottest temperature ever recorded.

When we got home last night around 7:00 p.m. from an emergency overnight run to Reno for SG, it was still 83 degrees out. We had to open up every window and slider in the house plus start up our floor fan to cool us and the house down until 10:00!! It's already 76 at 9:20 a.m.!!

These Mammoth Half Marathon runners must be dying in the altitude AND heat! :o

^ Ha yeah, but it didn't cool down much as there was no wind and no rain in town. Lots of lightning strikes around Mono Lake and a small strike fire on Copper Mountain (on the Inyo somewhere out there). Crews are on it now.

Currently 70 outside and 76 in the house with all doors and windows open! I just heard thunder!!
