A definite yes on that. Photo above was optimized for the Bailey beads, but for non magnified viewing the corona was huge and shifting and moving around. Was totally awesome:)

You just gave me goose bumps, I've got to go see one.

Beautiful pics, thanks.

The colander method turned out the best, eclipse glasses over the cell phone camera lens next, the white cardboard was too faint to photograph and as you can see, the selfie was a complete failure as I didn't even get the sun in the photo...LOL! :rofl:

Colander Method was awesome idea, kind of Andy Warhol-ish.

^ IKR? I can't claim the colander idea. I read about it on FB! :oops:

im going to eat acid on top of the grand teton but now I hear the park guys won't let anyone park till after 6am so I don't know what we will do for that and think it may be too crowded but we will figure it out but it will be awesome. thanks bye

Acid seems like the wrong move. Mushrooms seem more eclipse friendly.

QFT

i get what you are saying and mushys would be fun if it was just like a hike thing but in this case you actually have to use ropes for parts of that place more so to get back down and this is possibly not good on mushys but is good on acid and it can be planned better like peaking on the summit for the eclipse and then doing the rap after you have stopped melting and people used to do this often and were called stone masters but the thing is the parking issue so maybe another peak. thanks bye

I'm still waiting for a trip report

Watch that shadow racing across the surface!

@AlaskaAir Aug 21
Yes, it was a 2,000-mile flight to nowhere. But you’ll never believe the views. Shot 100% on @GoPro #GoPro #SolarEclipse2017

Here's my video of the shadow racing at 1,845mph at Grand Targhee ski resort.

:rofl:

This was from 2016 but the view of the shadow is great.

You can’t help but get excited when you fly with us and see a solar eclipse. We adjusted Flight #870 from Anchorage to Honolulu on March 8, 2016 just so our passengers could catch the solar eclipse from 35,000 feet. Read more on our blog: http://bit.ly/1UNYZbi

Excellent work SnS, what a view! What did you think of the eternal sunset on the horizon? Also it always seems like the sunlight comes back faster than it goes away.

The view of the "sunset" all around was very cool and helped make the wide shots of totality interesting since it created a silhouette of the mountains. Everything about it was amazing. More so than I even expected. Can't wait to see my next one even if it means driving twice as far. I ended up doing 4,000 miles in 13 days. Quite the road trip.
