Allz I know is NWS said the heat was supposed to peak on Tues. then it was a cool down from there. Instead we've had 3 equally hot days here. But they have been under forecasting temps. all summer long.

Dry weather is expected to persist through at least a week from
today. By late next week the longer range models forecast a
significant pattern change. Both the GFS and ECMWF show a cold
upper trough dropping out of western Canada and along the West
Coast of the United States, while a relatively moist airmass flows
in from the WSW ahead of the advancing cold air. If these models
verify, our region will probably see widespread moderate rainfall
by late next week, and potentially locally heavy rain as well. In
addition, temperatures will cool below normal for the first time
in a long time. Of course, this is still more than a week out and
much can change. But it`s encouraging to see the models in
relatively good agreement and maintaining a consistent forecast
for the past few days.

hmmm...this might be a good weekend for a hike. Next weekend one forecast shows snow Sat/Sun with low of 12 @ 8045'.
..and how many hours out is that? GFS has 60" accumulation for the highest elevations through Sunday the 5th.
Cursor over white area @ 60.2"

Yup. If you don't get your car out by then, it will remain there until spring and probably be crushed by snow load.

Temps have still be in the high 30's at Main Lodge in the evenings and high 60's up there during the day. They can't even blow snow yet.

So, no.

This should go in the November thread once it exists.

Euro increased snowfall for the central Sierra by about a foot in spots.
