Alright let's see how the qpf performs this week. Based solely on the season so far I'm going to guess that actual precipitation is around half of what's forecast.

Mammoth hasn't gotten a whole lotta snow so far this season but at least the volcano isn't erupting!

Apparently the pattern for this season is take the qpf five days out and divide it in half. 8" is a nice refresh but low compared to the qpf just a few days ago.

I think that's definitely going to apply right now. Looks warm and sunny for us and back to the deep freeze for the other half of the country.
