I talked to a guy in Colorado who regularly buys a season pass to Cranor Hill, a tiny ski hill in Gunnison that has a single poma lift. They have yet to open for 2017-2018, but he's gotten his money's worth. He uses his season pass there to get discounts at the other CO resorts

Apparently we had a cancelled tsunami watch from a GoA quake, but the seas may still be weird.

Yes we did and a very small tsunami was generated by the 7.9 quake. I'm sure it was scary in Kodiak last night when the tsunami warning sirens started blaring just after midnight.

The Ring of Fire is really active right now. Just coincidence?

This next storm seems to have a cold pool of air also.

That feature in the south by Hawaii is interesting to me because each of those feathery cloud strands is 100-200 miles long.

The 0z just went crazy in the fantasy long range - will that stick around for a few runs?

Doesn't Howard say that flooding in Hawaii means rain in California a few days later? Or something like that anyway...

Another AR setting up but will it drop far enough south to bring Mammoth more than a few inches of snow. Or will persistence win out again.

Nothing much to talk about, just some black and white clouds. Actually nice cool day...
