The GFS is being very insistent about that Low. Now its a really cold low too. Thats the kind we usually see early March that leaves a foot of powder in the local mountains: cold low offshore pumping in moisture.

^^^Regarding the Great Storm of February on 13/14th is fluctuating from .04"(LA) t0 .36"(SD)
I feel that's rather generous....

Whoo! Hoo! .04", I hope it verifies. I was just happy with the fog we had this morning. That's the most moisture I've seen in a while down here.

The 12Z has the low first coming down inland then meandering off the coast to come back in for Round 2 later. It moves the ridge north so that storms can ride up and over.

The Euro and GFS are in agreement with the L offshore picking up moisture for another swing at SoCal scenario.

LoX disc. this AM.... it may happen.
The majority of the attention was paid to the developing showery
or wet weather pattern developing between late Monday and into
late next week. Model solutions are starting to come into
agreement for at least a period of showers across the region
between late Monday and next Thursday. Models suggest a wave
moving around the Hudson Bay low pressure system breaking off,
phasing with another trough over the Gulf of Alaska, and
retrograding across Southern California on Tuesday. If the models
have this trough progged correctly, the weather system digs to
near 30n and 120w through Wednesday, and then picks up some
moisture from the subtropics. Much has to come into play for this
scenario to develop. There is a range of scenarios that could
develop, including a 'wet' Santa Ana or upslope precipitation
event for the Antelope Valley and the interior slopes of the San
Gabriel Mountains. Pops were trended higher into the slight
chance to chance category next week, but low confidence still
exists in the forecast. With model solutions converging and
strangely in agreement for this far out, the forecast followed
suit. Cooler and unsettled weather should be expected for Tuesday
and Wednesday. Gusty winds at times cannot be ruled out at this
time.
