Let's hope it sags 50-100 miles farther south than is forecast!

They've really backed off on the Saturday night system. A day ago it was looking good at 6-12 on the mountain, now they're saying 1-3. I hope it does make it further south.

^ Only 40% chance. Don't be greedy! Conditions with this wind buff should be excellent right now, but it's cold. Check out the massive cut at the entrance to Cornice! :o

Sign's buried! :)

Well I'm always greedy when it come to rain or snow but my main reason for wanting some more tonight was because we have some friends showing up this afternoon and staying for a couple of days. They are bringing their two young children who have never been in the snow before so it would have been fun to have a few inches of fresh stuff coming down so they could see it snow. Plenty of snow on the ground to make a snowman and to sled but the current snow in town is not too conducive for making snow angels. At least they didn't come to visit in January. I would have had to show them pictures of last year and try to explain to them what snow is.

As far as satisfying my greed, as cheaps says, 2nd week of April is looking interesting. Amazing April perhaps???? More, More, More!!! Heck, even last year I was disappointed it basically shut down after the second week of Feb. And Yes I realize I have an addiction but I can control it. It started when I was a little kid about 7 years old and we had a great thunderstorm one night. I liked the feel of the rush I got when the lightning flashed and the thunder boomed. I am in constant pursuit of another fix. I need stronger and stronger storms but the little ones help control the shakes for a little while. :shake:

I have similar symptoms. I have been advised to move to a different climate although it could be psychosomatic.

LOL I guess the way I don't know what to make of it is part of the fun.

So it says right up at the top "Weather, Snow & Road Conditions" and boy they got that right cuz the posts that go "I need weather. I need weather. I need weather." keep coming LOL. Are there Car Forums where the posts go on and on "I need cars. I need cars. I need cars." or something?

Succeeding runs of the GFS draw that April 4-5 storm further south and over CA instead of originally brushing by the upper third of the state and out.

Now its back to skirting but the ridge gets moved away like the last week to let cold storms drop down from the North. Yes I realize its the very last frame.

I don't care if it's the last frame. It gives us something to look forward to!

The GFS hasnt done too badly the last few months predicting pattern changes. I just find this interesting that its calling for the ridge to move off in such a way as to keep bringing these cold Alaskan storms down this late in the year.

My neighbors must think I'm trailer trash keeping the Xmas lights on, but I wrap them around my tomato plant thats still going from Summer on cold nights and right now its got about 10 tomatoes starting up! It must be working.

If I counted right, this is the 16th snowiest month in Mammoth history (top 5% and almost 3x average) and the 4th snowiest March. I hope April continues the parade of storms. Average snowfall in April is 33" so a 50"+ month would be sweet. Mammoth is still about 100" below the median for the season.

Start the April thread! The GFS is forecasting unsettled weather from the 5th-11th so far. Nothing big but wait and see.
