The forecast for Mt. Rose (top of Mt. Rose peak) between Friday and Saturday is calling for 7-12 inches of snow.
Too bad Mammoth Mountain isn't going to get that, how nice would that be to get fresh tracks on Memorial Day Weekend?

With the heavy rainfall this morning, the Reno Airport picked up
an additional 0.69" so far today. That pushes us into 3rd place
for the wettest spring on record for Reno! We have a total of
4.71" so far this spring (March-April-May), only surpassed by 1907
(5.37") and 1995 (5.08"). Precipitation records for Reno go back
to 1893. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue
through this afternoon and evening, with some strong thunderstorms
possible north of Gerlach and Lovelock. -Hoon

SLOW MOVING LOW IS CURRENTLY OVER OAKLAND, WRAP AROUND FLOW WITH FORCING MOSTLY N OF RENO, N CAL OREGON. I DON’T THINK IT’LL PRODUCE MUCH IN TERMS OF SNOWFALL FOR THE HILL LEAVING THIS SATURDAY MOSTLY OVERCAST WITH STALE BASE. MODELS WERE A LITTLE MORE BULLISH BACK ON TUESDAYS RUNS. EVEN IF IT SNOWS A FEW INCHES IT’S BEST TO CALL IT FRESHIES. LOW IS PROG TO CUTOFF AND STALL OVER THE GREAT BASIN ON SUN AND MON LEAVING THE CHANCE FOR THERMAL CONVECTIVE PRECIP IN THE AFTERNOON, BOTTOM LINE IT’LL WARM UP ON SUNDAY AND BEYOND WITH NO MORE NPAC SYSTEMS DROPPING ON CA.

12Z OPERATIONAL EC SHOWS THE LOW STALLED OVER THE BASIN GIVING THIS SUNDAY A CONTINUED CHANCE FOR PRECIP PER AFTERNOON, AND TS ABLBERTO MOVING INLAND IN THE GULF. NEXT WEEKEND ON THE HILL LOOKING A LOT WARMER TOO.

I didn't think MMSA's "Party at the Top" was going to happen tonight. It's pea soup up there and the wind is howling!

I was just checking out the web cams to see how much snow was left for this coming weekend. (big difference from Memorial Day Weekend)
There appears to be fire to the north of Mammoth Lakes it looks like in the vicinity of of glass mountain maybe closer. It would seem to be a bit breezy for a control burn.

I accidentally cropped the top of the pic but this gives you a better idea of it's location. This is taken from the "unbound" cam.

Here's a better pic of it.
