I have never been able to post a picture on this Forum. I understand there's size width limit of 700 pixels. I downsized a pic to those limits, loaded it to my website, tried to link here and got this message:
Quote:
It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.

I give up, I have no clue!!!

Are you copying and pasting your entire IMG code?

If so then I have no clue either. :-?

I'm not sure if you can link to "your" website. I've always understood that it has to be a photo hosting site such as Photobucket. I host all my photos for all the forums I post to on Photobucket and it works. There are other sites that may be better, but I started with Photobucket and have never seen a reason to switch.

It shouldn't matter whether the photo is hosted on a personal website or a photo hosting site as long as you can link directly to the image. Some sites give you a link with a .html extension instead of a .jpg extension and this forum can't determine the size of the image with a .html extension.

I just realized that if the link to the image is a secure link (HTTPS) instead of just HTTP then you will get that error message. It was just random that I figured it out right now...or at least I think I did :P

Will the forums ever be able to just upload a picture from your phone onto here? I supposed you only can for the top 5 social media websites so I would guess it's difficult.

What are people using as an alternative to Photobucket to host pictures for upload to the forum?

I tried this, but couldn't get it to work for me:
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-writ ... ge-342794/

I get a "couldn't determine dimensions of photo" error or something like that

Im using imgur.
Upload pic.
Open in new tab/copy image location whichever browser you use, paste url in forum post w img tags, get rid of the s in https.

W a gif theres an extra step to go to the actual imgur post to get to the *.gif address.
